National Novel Writing Month is almost upon us. For the month of November the goal is to write 50,000 words. No editing, seat of your pants, a spewing of words that may or may not make up a good story. We shall see.

NaNoWriMo website describes the process.
"Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly."

The only problem here is I can see filling page after page with, "All work and no play makes Erin a dull girl." Then again, for me, writing is play. It's what I long to do. When I don't have time for writing, something is wrong in my world. I just hope that my real life calms down a touch by November.

I also hope to finish my first draft of Courtly Christmas. I plan to start Courtly Manners for the NaNoWriMo project.

For my fellow teachers out there, NaNoWriMo also hosts a young writer's version.

I was just thinking myself I wanted to try my hand at NaNo again. I tried last year and barely got two paragraphs before all hell broke loose in life. Maybe life will be slower in novemeber. Good luck!

I hope to do NaNo again this year- would be my third. It's more fun than I can possibly describe.

I just don't know if my eyes can take it this year :/ I had a retina tear two weeks after NaNo ended last year even though I only allowed myself to write fifteen days in November and took mandatory eye rest days. I had no problem making the word count and then some- and have no way to know if what happened to my eye was related but, it's scares me. This year I worry that my health may keep me out of the fun.

Hope to see you there, though! LOVE the Snoopy pic btw...

I wonder if you can participate using a voice activated typing thingy. I know they exist but have no concept of price or if they're even effective. You could churn out your 50k by talking. Since it's a no editing type of thing, it might work out really well.

I am sorry to hear about your eye. That is scary. Any hope of surgical correction?
